Each summer film industry writers, producers, Hollywood stars, entertainment leaders and financiers, as well as a smattering of press descend upon the idyllic island of Nantucket for the Nantucket Film Festival. They come to participate in film screenings, celebrity readings and panel discussions not to mention a whole lot of mingling. This year will mark the 8th Annual Nantucket Film Festival, a four-day event that has become a staple in the film industry and an opportunity to celebrate the role of the writer in film production. Past films that have been recognized at the festival include "The Full Monty", "Girl Fight" and "Next Stop Wonderland."
