Nantucket Nectars Recipe Contest Official Rules

1. 1. How to Enter: Contest starts 12:00 AM EST, 11/24/00 and ends 11:59 PM, EST, 1/01/01. Entry is via Internet only, and all entries must be received by 11:59 PM, EST, 1/01/01.
   
   
2. 2. To Submit An Entry: Create an original recipe using at least one bottle of Nantucket Nectars® and other ingredients commonly found in the average household. Eligible recipe categories are: (1) Main Course; (2) Sides and Soups; (3) Bread/Muffin; (4) Desert; (5) Drink/Smoothie, or (6) Alcohol Drink . Recipe must be in exact standard US measurements; list ingredients and measurements in order of use, include complete step-by-step preparation & cooking instructions, cooking times and temperatures, necessary utensils/appliances and number of servings. Submit your original recipe by filling out our "Submit a Recipe" form found on the Juice Guys Recipe Contest Section of www.juiceguys.com. All entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. on January 1, 2001. Entries will be judged and prizes awarded in the following six categories: (1) Main Course; (2) Sides and Soups; (3) Bread/Muffin; (4) Dessert;( 5) Drink/Smoothie, or (6) Alcohol Drink. Incomplete, illegible entries will be disqualified. Entry consists of official entry form & recipe, becomes the property of Nantucket Allserve Inc.Ò ("Sponsor") and will not be returned. Enter as many recipes as you wish, but there is a limit of one (1) recipe per electronic entry, one (1) entry per e-mail address per day, and each entry must be substantially different to be eligible.
   
   
3. 3. Judging Criteria: Winners will be selected in the following manner. Eligible entries will be judged in two rounds. Round One: A panel of Nantucket Nectarine judges will select a maximum of ten (10) semi-finalists in each recipe category, based on the following criteria: 60% - originality/creativity in the use of a Nantucket Nectars Flavor(s); 40% - creativity and suitability of the name of the recipe. Final Round: Three (3) culinary Nantucket judges, identified below, will prepare and judge each semi-finalist recipe based on the following criteria: 70% - taste; 30% - ease of preparation. Judges: (1) Main Course and (2) Sides/ Soups categories - Angela and Seth Carter Raynor from The Boarding House and The Pearl; (3) Bread/Muffin and (4) Dessert categories - Sheila C. Fee and her team from Something Natural; (5) Drinks/Smoothies and (6) Alcohol Drinks categories - Paul Conti of Straight Wharf Restaurant. In the event of a tie, the entries will be re-judged in their particular recipe category by an additional judge from Nantucket Nectars who will serve as a tiebreaker and who will evaluate entries according to the criteria for that Round listed above. The decisions of the judges shall be final and binding in all matters relating to the selection of the winning recipes.
   
   
4. 4. WINNERS: One (1) winner and one (1) runner up will be selected in each of the above listed categories. All prizes will be awarded provided there is are a sufficient number of eligible entries. Each winner and runner-up will be notified by phone, postal mail, and/or e-mail on or about 1/31/01.
   
   
5. 5. Prizes/Drawing: Each of the Six (6) Winners (one per category) will each receive his/her choice of two (2) of the following: (a) Hamilton Beach Blender (ARV; $40); (b)The Nantucket Table (hardcover edition) by Susan Simon (ARV: $40); (c) $40 Gift Certificate good either for purchases of Nantucket Nectar juices at your favorite store or purchases of Nectar Garb on the On-Line Allserve General Store (ARV $40); (d) a Hamilton Beach Sandwich Griddle and Waffle Maker (ARV: $40); (e) or, a two-year subscription to Gourmet magazine (ARV $35). Each of the Six (6) Runner-ups (one per category) will receive his/her receive choice of one of the above listed prizes. The Winning and Runner-Up recipes, including directions, may be featured on the Juice Guys' web site and/or other advertising/promotional materials. Prizes may not be redeemed for cash; and are not transferable or substitutable except by Sponsor with one of equal or greater value. Any taxes are sole responsibility of winner.
   
   
6. 6. Eligibility: Contest open to legal residents of the U.S. and District of Columbia, 21 years and older as of 11/15/00, except residents of AZ, CO, MD, ND, PR, and VT. Employees (and members of their immediate family or household) of Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, Contest judges, other individuals/entities associated with this promotion, and individuals involved in the preparation of food or recipes on a professional basis are not eligible. Limit one prize per family/household.
   
   
7. 7. Recipe Requisites: Each recipe submitted must be entrant's own original creation, created solely by entrant. Recipe may not have been published previously or won any other award; may not currently be submitted to another contest; and the right to submit it in this Contest must not be restricted. Entry cannot defame or invade publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person's personal or proprietary rights. No reproduced, illegible, incoherent, unusable, or incomplete entries will be accepted. Sponsor not responsible for typographical errors, omitted ingredients or any other errors in recipes submitted by entrants. Non-complying entries will be disqualified. No correspondence regarding entries will be entered into with entrants. By entering, each entrant grants to Sponsor all rights to content of his/her entry (including the recipe) and the concepts embodied therein. Entrant unconditionally assigns & transfers to Sponsor all rights, title, and interest, which it now has or may in the future have to the entries or any element(s) thereafter including, without limitation, the copyright therein. Sponsor shall have right to use, alter, assign, transfer or dispose of such entries however it sees fit without approval of entrants. By entering, entrants agree that they have no right to, and agree not to, bring any claim, action, or proceeding of any kind or nature against Sponsor or its affiliated companies, subsidiaries, agents, employees, or shareholders in connection with this Contest. Entrants grant Sponsor the right to use their individual names, photographs, images, likenesses, voices & biographical materials, as well as their entries for advertising, publicity & promotion purposes as Sponsor so determines, including use in print, on labels or bottles, or on its www.juiceguys.com web-site, without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. Entrants shall not receive any compensation or credit for use of entries, other than as stated in these Official Rules. Entry constitutes permission to edit, modify, publish and otherwise use the recipe in anyway without compensation. Entrants may be required to sign, within 10 days of issuance, an Affidavit of Eligibility/Compliance & Publicity/Liability release, or prize will be awarded to alternate winner.
   
   
8. 8. Internet: Sponsor is not responsible for interrupted or unavailable network server or other connections, miscommunications, failed telephone or computer transmissions or jumbled, scrambled or misdirected entries or transmissions, or for phone, electrical, network, computer hardware or software or program malfunctions, failures or difficulties or for other errors, omissions, interruptions, or deletions of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic or for any damage to any person's computer related to participating in the sweepstake. Sponsor is not responsible for illegible, unintelligible, late, lost or stolen entries or incorrect or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human errors which may occur in the processing of any entries in this Contest. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Contest, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified and may be subject to prosecution. If in the judgment of Sponsor, the Contest is compromised by virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor, which corrupts the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to discontinue, suspend or terminate the Contest. Any personally identifiable information collected during your participation in this Contest will be collected by Sponsor and used by Sponsor and its agents solely for purposes of the proper administration and fulfillment of the Contest as described in these Official Rules and will not be shared with any third party except as required by law. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
   
   
9. 9. General: Void in AZ, CO, MD, ND, PR, VT and where prohibited by law. By entering this Contest, entrant agrees to abide by these official rules. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. By participating, each Winner and Runner-up releases Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, the Contest judges, and all other individuals or entities involved in the creation, administration, or fulfillment of this Contest, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents ((all of the former collectively referred to as "Sponsor, et al."), from any and all liability with respect to all aspects of this Contest and the possession, acceptance, use/ misuse of prize or arising out of or in connection with Sponsor's use of any entry. All entries and/or materials submitted become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.
